Quilon is a chemical containing chrome – a heavy metal – which when incinerated becomes toxic and leaves trace elements. The majority of parchment papers are quilon-coated due to its cheaper cost.

A silicone-coated paper is not only better for the environment, it is also the choice of professionals as it can be reused several times.
