Original EcoBalls® laundry kit - lasts up to 1,000 washes, saving about 50 boxes of washing powder!

EcoBalls® 1,000 is a refillable eco friendly laundry kit that'll save you money, save water and make your laundry more eco friendly. You use them instead of washing powder and yes, they do really work.

There are three ecoballs in each box. You put all three balls in the washing machine with your clothes, each one contains pellets made of mineral salts that produce ionized oxygen, which combined with the movement of the balls on your clothes, penetrates deep into your washing, lifting dirt and grime away. Because there's a lot less to rinse out, you can use a shorter cycle, and wash at a lower temperature. The kit lasts for up to 1,000 washes.

Nigel Says

Nigel SaysI've had a set of EcoBalls for over 2 years and they're still going strong! Clothes come out softer, using less water, and the results are great.

More information

  • EcoBalls® give you a clean, fresh, and sensitive alternative to conventional washing powders, and are reuseable for up to 1,000 washes (including the free refills), which is about the same as 50 boxes of washing powder or liquitabs. They cost on average 3p per wash (compared to 25-30p for normal washing powder), and so will save you quite a lot of money.
  • EcoBalls® are hypoallergenic and the kit includes free refill pellets and a stain remover.
  • You can add conditioner, eco bleach or pre-soak as you need.
  • EcoBalls® take smells away, but don't add any - you can add one of your own via conditioner or an essential oil etc, as you like.
  • No more hassle or expense of carting bulky powders and liquids home from the supermarket ever again.
  • Eco Balls do not need the rinse cycle - so if possible, save water and energy by choosing a very short, or no rinse cycle.
  • Voted one of the Ten Best Green Household Products by The Independent, and featured on BBC Newsnight.
  • If everyone switched to EcoBalls ®, 700,000 fewer tonnes of detergent would go into Britain's waterways every year.
  • "Bought a set and am 100% impressed. I have inspected my washing scrupulously and cannot fault them and the washing is softer. Can't imagine using anything else now. Would recommend them to anybody."
    Sue Nichol
  • EcoBalls® come with 30-day money back guarantee so there's no excuse not to try them.
  • NB Nigel's Eco Store is authorised to sell the Registered EcoBalls® - the ones we sell are the Original EcoBalls®, not a copy that are sold by some other retailers.

Hard water
If you live in a hard water area, we recommend using an eco friendly limescale remover such as Magno Balls, with the EcoBalls®, it helps to make them work better.

Customer Reviews

Completely satisfied  The eco balls work very well and are easy to use--no measuring or pouring. I have had mine for four or so months. The laundry comes out clean as long as load is 3/4 or less, and I still have to use stain remover for some things (collar dirt, underarms of work shirts).   carol farr

Depends what you want   Very aware of virtuous ecological credentials. Generally balls are very satisfactory for bed linen, towels, curtains and for dark items as no residue is left. My tea cloths were embarrassing though. Whites needed a boost after a few washes with just the balls.   Magdalen Bray

Take the effort out of washing!  Only the more stubborn stains have needed the ecover stain remover. I use for all my washing including my sons terry nappies (have to remember to remove balls before putting in the white vinegar). Clothes are soft and I save energy by using a 30 minute wash cycle.   Teri
